However, a completely different crop has emerged as what could be the next huge trend in agriculture. As shocking as it may sound, marijuana may be the next great cash crop in America. That’s according to Doug Fine, an author, recently featured by BBC News, who says the marijuana industry has already become bigger than soy and corn combined. Most people are becoming more and more familiar with the trend of marijuana legalization in America today. In fact, it seems that the public is even becoming more supportive of such legalization. USA Today reports that three quarters of Americans now believe legalization on a national level is inevitable. Reuters reports that Colorado, where marijuana is fully legalized, will bring in more than $100 million in marijuana tax revenues this year alone.
